Specialist Referral Services

Veterinary referral is the transfer of care of a horse from one vet to another.

Referral may be recommended when specialist equipment or techniques are needed to discover the problem or to provide more effective treatment to the horse.

The hospital’s administrative team are available during office hours to take the initial information pertaining to the case and to organise the appropriate receiving veterinarian to contact you if required. We also accept referrals by letter and email if preferred.

Once we receive the relevant case history including any results of testing already carried out and any medications or treatments already administered, an appropriate appointment can then be scheduled. We place great emphasis on providing excellent communication with clients and referring veterinarians, and we aim to make the whole referral process as straightforward as possible.
